This Week’s RainTask
We live in a society that is constantly encouraging you to buy the newest, coolest products available. It can be easy to get sucked into the mindset that you have to keep up with your peers and with the trends. Each time you make a purchase, big or small, really ask yourself if the purchase is necessary. What is driving you to purchase the item? Do you really need it, or is it an impulse buy? Here are some tips to consider:
Wait for a sale - Commit to waiting for the item to go on sale before you make the purchase. If you wait for a certain discount to become available before you pull the trigger, you will spend more time thinking about the purchase before you make it, and your bank account will thank you.
Save it for later - If it is truly a purchase you should make, you should still have a strong desire to make the purchase the next day (or next week).
Ramp up your savings - Contribute the money that you would’ve spent on the item into your savings account, instead.
